Weigen probably won’t tell you, but he has a few degrees: Undergrad in Chemistry and a Masters in Computational Chemistry from Peking University, a Masters in Computer Science and a Ph.D. from North Carolina State University in Computational Physics & Chemistry.

Go ahead and click that last link to find out exactly what that means. We did.

The biggest changes he’s seen during his 13+ years in the ticketing industry: how the internet and mobile has change the ticket purchase process for consumers, and how SAAS model adoption has made box offices more portable and efficient.

Three Things You Should Know About Weigen:

1. He plans to go green when gray. If Weigen ever retires, he hopes to simplify his life by becoming a farmer. This comes as no surprise, given that his alma mater’s campus is known as “Yan Yuan” (Garden of Yuan).

2. “Pass” if he starts talking about a “finesse” or “squeeze play.” While he claims he no longer plays competitive bridge, we’re not taking any chances against a guy with a Ph.D. in Computational Physics & Chemistry.

3.  The apples don’t fall far from the tree. We’ve met Weigen’s sons, and let’s just say when we need to round up some Mathlete “ringers,” we know where to find them.
