Two landmark venues in historic Wheeling, West Virginia partner with new ticketing provider
Raleigh, NC (Etix) September 3, 2013—WesBanco Arena and Capitol Theatre announced today that they have partnered with Etix, a provider of comprehensive ticketing solutions, for a full range of ticketing, distribution and digital marketing services.
“We’re excited to take control of our brand through our partnership with Etix,” said Denny Magruder, Executive Director at WesBanco Arena and Capitol Theatre. “This shift provides countless benefits and value for our guests and our presenters. We considered several options, and selected Etix based on their unique ability to provide time-tested technology with good old-fashioned customer service.”
“This move fully supports our goal of bringing quality and affordable entertainment to WesBanco Arena and Capitol Theatre, as well as maintaining long-standing events including Wheeling Nailers games and Wheeling Symphony performances,” said Magruder.
Etix’s client-branded ticket purchase process will allow fans to easily purchase tickets directly from WesBanco and Capitol Theatre websites and through toll-free telephone sales center, creating a more seamless experience for customers. Magruder indicated that because so many customers are purchasing tickets online now, he needed to think about what was best for his venues and his patrons.
“We feel like Etix just gets it. From toll-free phone sales to their simple online checkout process on your computer or phone, without banner ads or distractions from third parties, Etix will help enhance the patron experience,” said Magruder.
“Etix is proud to partner with WesBanco Arena and Capitol Theatre, both of which are truly entertainment landmarks in the Upper Ohio Valley,” said Etix CEO Joe Kustelski. “We’re especially excited to provide a whole new ticketing experience with the Capitol Theatre as they finish up major renovations with all new amenities. Etix shares their passion for the arts and we are confident that consumers will enjoy a smooth transition.”
“At Etix, we pride ourselves on the flexibility to deliver the powerful technology our venues’ need coupled with the ability to listen and sculpt services that fit their unique needs, for today and tomorrow,” said Dennis Scanlon, Vice President at Etix. “I helped Denny and his team digitize ticketing nearly two decades ago, and I’m excited to help take them to the next level with Etix.”
